Testex Dial Thickness Gauge

Testex Dial Thickness Gauge

Testex dial gauge

Profile dial gauge

Testex  Dial Gauge use together with Testex replica Press-O-Film Tape, For measure the surface roughness of blast cleaned surfaces.

Testex Gauge is a precision, spring-loaded Dial Thickness Gauge specifically designed for measuring thickness of Testex replica tape.

The Testex  imperial version gauge measure ranges from .0001″ to .050″ resolution of .1 mil, the metric version is also available.

Start measurements with the grade of tape that has the target surface profile, Then Closest to the center of its range. Put the replica tape on the center of the gauge certainly get most accurate reading result.

Testex Press-O-Film Specifications

Standards Compliance

Standards Governing of Replica Tape to Measure Profile:

ASTM – (American Society for Testing and Materials) D 4417:

  • Standard Test Methods for Field Measurement of Surface Profile of Blast Cleaned Steel

NACE – International (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) RP0287:

  • Standard Recommended Practice: Field Measurement of Surface Profile of Abrasive Blast Cleaned Steel Surfaces Using a Replica Tape

SSPC – the Society for Protective Coatings

ISO – International Organization for Standardization: Standard ISO8503-5 Preparation of steel substrates before application of paints and related products – Surface roughness characteristics of blast-cleaned steel substrates – Part 5: Replica tape method for the determination of the profile

In cases where standards compliance is required, the full original current standard should be consulted.
