Description
What is Shore Hardness Durometer
Shore Hardness Durometer is a devise use for measure the hardness of a material typically of polymer. Higher numbers on the scale indicate a greater resistance to indentation and thus harder materials. Lower numbers indicate less resistance and softer materials.
We provide the both digital and manual gauge of shore hardness durometer as follow:
1. TQC Shore Hardness Durometer Gauge DIN 53505, ISO 868, also ASTM D2240.
TQC Shore Hardness Gauge is a reliable instrument for measuring the impression hardness of soft materials such as coatings, plastics and rubber. Equipped with a drag indicator, which holds the highest measured result, and also come with a simple test block.
Durometers measure the depth of an indentation in the material created by a given force on a standardized presser foot. The depth is dependent on the hardness of the material, its viscoelastic properties, the shape of the presser foot, and also duration of the test. The basic test requires applying the force in a consistent manner, without shock, and also measuring the hardness.

TQC Durometer Gauge Test Stand is suitable for Shore A, C, and D* type Durometer. The test stand construction includes operating handle, adjustable glass stage, and also (height) adjustable Durometer fixture. With this test stand hardness tests of rubber or plastics with a Durometer can be performed more accurately and also reproducibility.
When this Test stand is used with TQC Shore D meter an extra weight of 4000 gram is necessary.
2. PosiTector SHD Shore Hardness Durometer.
PosiTector SHD Shore Hardness Durometer is used for the indentation hardness of non-metallic materials.
Handheld electronic instrument measures the indentation hardness of non-metallic materials.
Two durometer models are available for different hardness ranges – Shore A and Shore D as follow:
- User-adjustable measurement time with onscreen countdown to conform to national and also international standards
- Auto Ignore mode disregards hardness readings below 20 and above 90 per international standards stated.
- Solvent, acid, oil, water, and also dust resistant – weatherproof
- PosiTector interchangeable platform – attach any PosiTector probe to a single gage body
- USB, WiFi, and Bluetooth connectivity to PosiSoft PC, Mac, and Smartphone software
- Certificate of Calibration showing traceability to NIST included (Long Form)
What is the difference between Shore A and Shore D durometers?
PosiTector SHD Shore Hardness Durometers measures the indentation hardness of non-metallic materials such as polymers, elastomers and rubbers. In the corrosion industry, durometers are commonly used to ensure proper curing of thick coatings and pipeline repair wraps.
The two PosiTector SHD models look and operate identically, and vary only in the spring pressure and shape of the intender tip. This allows the two models to accurately measure different hardness ranges:
Shore A (SHDA)- for soft to hard materials such as soft rubber, elastomers, neoprene, silicone, etc.
Shore D (SHDD) – for medium to extra hard materials such as hard rubber, epoxies, hard plastics, PVC, acrylic, etc.
Standard Models
- Storage of 250 readings per probe—stored readings can be viewed or downloaded
Advanced Models
- Storage of 100,000 readings from multiple probes in up to 1,000 batches and also sub-batches
- Auto Sub-Batch – automatically create sub-batches after the required number of readings are taken
- Live graphing of measurement data
- Batch/Reading annotation—add notes and also change batch names with onscreen QWERTY keyboard
- Store thickness, profile, environmental, wall thickness and also hardness measurements in individual batches
- WiFi technology wirelessly synchronizes with PosiSoft.net and downloads software updates
- Bluetooth 4.0 Technology for data transfer to a mobile device running the PosiTector App or optional portable printer. BLE API available for integration into third-party software.
- Integrate with third-party software, drones, ROVs, PLCs, and robotic devices using several industry-standard communication protocols.
