Positector bodies accept all PosiTector probes easily converting from a coating thickness gage to a surface profile gage, dew point meter, soluble salt tester, hardness or ultrasonic thickness gage. PositectorGage Bodies can be used with all PosiTector probes. Choose from Standard or Advanced models with choice of protective carrying case—small or large. The award winning PosiTector gage bodies accept ALL coating thickness (6000/200), surface profile (SPG/RTR), environmental (DPM/IRT), salt contamination (SST), hardness (BHI/SHD), gloss (GLS), and ultrasonic wall thickness (UTG) probes.

Determine Probe

DeFelsko continuously improves and expands its PosiTector platform, and new probes. Sometimes require technologies that are not available on older gage bodies. The below chart is a quick reference to determine compatibility, based on the gage body serial number. This serial number is printed inside the battery compartment, and is also displayed on the Gage Info screen (Gage Menu > Settings > Gage Info).

Note: If an ‘unsupported’ message is displayed, and the chart indicates the probe and gage body are compatible, a gage update may be required.

Is a type of profile gauge that measures the surface roughness of an object, usually to facilitate substrate preparation. And also the application of a protective coating. PosiTector_RTR or PosiTector RTR 3D (replica tape reader)

Is portable instrument with digital spring micrometers measure and also record surface profile parameters using replica tape. The replica tape consists of a layer of crush-able plastic micro foam coated onto a polyester film of highly uniform thickness. PosiTector _IRT (infrared thermometer)

is a Non-contact surface temperature measurement.

Unlike the PosiTector DPM IR, the Positector IRT measures surface temperature only. The PosiTector DPM family measures a number of climatic parameters including relative humidity, air temperature and surface temperature allowing it to calculate dew point temperature and the all-important difference between surface temperature and dew point temperature (Ts-Td) — a vital parameter for industrial painters.

The PosiTector IRT has a larger distance to spot ratio and a button activated laser pointer for precise and accurate surface temperature measurement.

Positector-UTG (ultrasonic wall thickness)

Measures the wall thickness of materials such as steel, plastic and also other more using ultrasonic technology. Ideal for measuring the effects of corrosion or erosion on tanks, pipes and also any structure where access is limited to one side. Multiple echo (UTG M) Thru-Paint models measure the metal thickness of a painted structure without having to remove the coating.

PosiTector_SST (soluble salt testing)

Use to measures the concentration of soluble salts (salt contamination) on metal surfaces in accordance with ISO 8502-6, 8502-9. Using the measured conductivity value and also the sample test volume (set within the gage menu), then the surface density of the salts (mg/m2 or µg/cm2) is automatically calculated in accordance with ISO 8502-9. PosiTector-SHD (Shore hardness durometer)

Inspection Kit

Coating Inspection Kit is designed for the painting contractor’s foreman or lead man. The instruments contained in this kit will provide that person, when properly trained, with the minimum inspection instruments normally required for verifying ambient conditions, surface temperatures, degree of cleanliness, anchor profile, wet film thickness, and dry film thickness, etc. As the coating industry grows, technology changes, and the cost of a coating program becomes a major investment. The documentation requirements for each step of that program has also become more stringent.
