High Voltage Holiday Detector
TQC High Voltage Holiday Detector or porosity test provides accurate detection of pinholes, flaws, inclusions, thin spots and also bubbles in a coating.
The gauge has been specifically designed to revolutionize high voltage DC testing of coatings, making it safer, easier and more reliable than previously possible.
The high voltage technique is identically to test porosity coatings thickness up to 36 mm thick. This Instrument is ideal for inspecting paint on pipelines, tank bottoms and other protective coatings, also for coatings on concrete.
Furthermore the instrument has a lot of uniquely features. A current limiting not only to avoid coating damage, but also a safety hand grip without sensitive electronics. The extended ribbing on the handle would provides an effective barrier between the high voltage and the user. The accurate sensitivity adjustment allows use on metallized or slightly damp coatings.
These is used to ensure the longevity of coating systems by locating pin holes, air bubbles, and also porosity in non-conductive coatings on conductive substrates, including concrete.

Applications
- Used for detection of coating porosity (pin-holes, whether holidays) in dielectric (insulation type) coatings on conductive substrates, and also on concrete.
- Suitable for Production Pipeline coating operations, Tank-work and also Structures. Comparatively ideal for use on storage tanks, valves and pipelines etc
- Come with housed in a fully portable ABS case, and also Detectors deliver stabilized DC output of up to 30kV. Constant current source maintains applied test voltage. Full test current at low voltages (where it is needed most) when testing at low film builds (eg 150µm, as per AS3894.1-2002)
- Incorporating momentary-on and also continuous-on switches (mounted on the front panel), allowing the units to be switched on momentarily for safety, or to run continuously
- No necessaries to swap probes to change voltage, because the detectors have clip-on battery packs which must be separately charged. Fully recharged in 4 hours and the regulated DC output fully adjustable either. Applied voltage and battery condition also continuously shown on the Liquid Crystal Display.
